Whats in the Box - Loot Crate Jan 2015

I am first to admit I am a sucker for subscription boxes.

The excitement of having no idea what you will get but it is likely to be all sorts of awesome.

So i just couldn't help but sign up for Loot Crate. The combination of a box that fulfils my need for the subscription box wants and it is full of Geeky gloriousness.... had to be a win right..??!

I have been receiving my Loot Crate for a while but wanted to start sharing the awesomeness contained inside..

So I present the contents of the Jan 2015 Rewind Themed loot crate.

(yes I know this post is a little late but meh I was busy)

I was quite happy with the contents of this months crate. The selection was cool with some really nice good quality items..

The Box was retro themed of course, like an NES console. 

The little Loot Crate Magazine as usual is full of an outline of what is in the crate, some stories and other tidbits

And can i just say....DEAR GOD I WANT TO WIN A MEGA CRATE!! 

This months crate contained a T-shirt which was the awesome exclusive to Loot Crate

I am pumped about this one, the super cute exclusive 10-Doh figures. 

There were 6 possibilities and I managed to get a Firefly themed one. 

The stunning Retro Arcade Skinny Tie from Black Tie Geek.

Now this would be a perfect gift for that Tie wearing geek in your life. 

Really well packed, beautifully made. This is no novelty tie. It is high quality and i am waiting for them to launch so i can grab some more.

Cute little 8-Bit Glasses

I am a stationary nut so i love this one.

 The Comic Note Book from Unemployed Philosophers Guild.

It has panels and stencils for dialogue bubbles etc

And finally an exclusive Star Wars Comic book from Marvel

Now I get to sit and wait ever not so patiently to see what is in Next Months Loot Crate...

A Full Circle - Circle Skirt Review

I have always had a great love for Full circle skirts.

They just suit my shape, style and look so good on..

I recently was tempted by the amazing variety of Fabrics offered by Betty Le Bonbon for their custom circle skirts.

It is an wonderful Melbourne Based Business, creating beautiful clothes for Women of all shapes and sizes. 

They state their aim is to "provide beautiful, feminine and quality garments suitable for wearing every day - often with a geeky and/or nerdy twist!"

Amen to that...  

I gave in to temptation and ordered two skirts in the following fabrics ..

As with all the Custom Skirts from Betty Le Bonbon, I was able to get them made to suit me perfectly.
I ordered them in Full Length, to fit my waist measurement perfectly (37 inches) and chose a 2 inch waist band.

The result..

I AM IN LOVE !!

The Material is lovely, Very soft but stable enough to have a lovely drape to it.
They are made so beautifully and it could not fit me any better. 
I can actually easily wear them all without a belt which often does not happen with me and circle skirts.

The prints work so well and the variety of what is available is so so so constantly tempting.

They list new fabric options all the time.

So if you want a awesome, beautifully made circle skirt you must go visit the amazing 
 Betty Le Bonbon.

Framed... My New Glasses

Guess What???

I got new glasses 

YAY

I have worn glasses on or off since I was 8 years old. 

Let me tell you, some of the frames I had as a kid.... ohhh were they pretty..

Awww poor little Jasmine... they are so wonderfully bad 1980's

I now like to think that my taste in glasses has much improved.

They are mainly to help with eye strain. Considering the fact that my day job and a lot of my favourite past times are in front of a monitor, I tend to be in them a lot.

Whilst playing around on eBay recently I stumbled something awesome.

I have always had a soft spot for Cats Eye frames. They just are too cute

The problem I have is...I have a wide face.. 

So most vintage cat's eye frames make me look like a demented cross eyed Siamese cat. 

They are too narrow. 

So when i saw these on eBay and realised that they were wide enough, I thought 'what the hell', Hit Buy Now and crossed my fingers. 

The Result....

They worked !!! 
oh and  I got them in two colours

They are actually on eBay from a few different sellers but here is a link to one store that has both colours. I got them for about $20 a pair... so cheap.

They are light but durable plastic frames. My Optician easily added my prescription lenses

So they are my new glasses, I love them so and they go well with my Rockabilly / Gothabilly look I try to rock most days

I also had new lenses put into my favourite chunky black Red or Dead frames, which i am sure you have all seen before.
