Cosplay - A little on the green side.

Recently I had an excuse to get all dressed up for costume party.
I would not really class this as Cosplay. It was a party outfit but fun regardless.

My Cousin threw an awesome party for his 40th with a Sci Fi theme.

I could not decide for so long what to go as, I wanted it to be different. Not something typical, I also didn't want to spend a lot of money on pre made costume as well.

So my final costume...

Star Trek TOS Ensign - Misc Green Alien Girl.

Not really accurate to canon but for a costume party it was good enough ;)

Here is a breakdown of the outfit

The Make Up used for Face, Chest and Neck..

Benefit Primer POREfessional

Mac Pro Paint Sticks in Landscape Green and True Chartreuse

Maybelline Glam Eyes Eye Shadow - Live Show 122
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick - Blamed Blue 009

Le Keux Black Cadillac Gel Liner
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Khol -  Black
False lashes
Cosmetic contacts - Venus by ColourVue

I totally forgot to get any during shots of the make-up but I can happily say what I used where.

The first thing I did was apply my moisturiser and Benefit POREfessional primer all over my face, neck and chest.
I used a blender sponge and my hands for this part.

I now mixed on a palette the two colour Mac paint sticks to get the green I was after.
This was pretty much 2 parts True Chartreuse to 1 Landscape green.

Using a Foundation Brush, and blending sponge I applied this all over my face neck and chest.
Making sure I paid close attention to getting it right up to my Eyes, Hairline where you could see it, back of my neck and my ears. I used a stippling brush to help get a even shade with no thin patches.

The base was set using the Illamasqua Fledgling Eye-shadow as a powder.

I then used a mix of the Parasol (sky blue) and Jade-o-lade (rich jade) which both have a matte finish from the Lime Crime China Doll Palette to contour and add some dimension to my face.

I highlighted with Bourjois - Eye Shadow 01 Anis

My eyes were done with the bourjios Anis, Illamasqua Forgiveness and Maybelline Glam Eyes Eye Shadow - Live Show 122. I lined them with the Gel liner and Khol, finally using the Lotus Noir – blackest black (matte) from the china doll palette to set the liner.

I filled in my brows using the Illamasqua Daemon and Forgiveness.

Lips were coloured with Rimmel Scandaleyes eye shadow stick and then Maybelline - live show shadow pressed over the top..

ohh and put in the contacts that are Venus by ColourVue in their crazy contacts range

The outfit was super basic

Arms - Green Tights
Boots - Duo Knee High Boots
Belt - Random belt from Ebay
Gloves - Simple black satin Gloves so I didn't have to paint my hands

and

I also had this Phaser that I got from ThinkGeek

So that was it, we had a great time

needless to say I might of had one of the more elaborate costumes at the party and at some point I might of ended up in a emergency room because I was on only one not drinking when our little cousin hit his head and needed to get checked over. He is all ok so all is good but I definitely made the people in the hospitals night.

We also got to see a performance from the Amazing Lemvis

Happily because it was good quality make-up and not that cheap face paint it came off very easily with just normal make-up wipes and face wash.

So it may not be easy but I had a lot of fun being green

  1. Well done on the outfit and more points for the make-up. Sometimes make-up kills a cosplay, but you nailed it.
